The Nursery

The past few months...
OK, so we’re not the best bloggers! Sorry it’s been almost three month’s since our last post. Everything has been going great though! We are currently 34 weeks and 4 days along. Only a little more than a month to go! Michael and I are really excited to finally meet this little girl we’ve been waiting so long for!
We had a great baby shower with our friends and family in Cincinnati last month, my coworkers threw us a baby shower a few weeks ago and we are having our Nashville shower tomorrow afternoon! Michael and I are so blessed to have so many people in our lives who want to celebrate this miracle with us! You all are the best!
We hope to have the nursery completely finished here in the next few weeks. Michael and our friend Dustin were able to get the room painted two week ago and Michael’s aunt Lish came over last Saturday and helped me paint a tree and dragonfly on one wall. We will post pictures once the room is complete.

Starting the Nursery
We were finally able to start getting the nursery ready this weekend! Despite all the flooding, our crib still arrived on time on Monday! So, Michael set aside a few hours on Saturday to build the crib and the dresser. We still have a lot to do... like painting and fill the room with essentials but we have a few months!
We are 23 weeks into the pregnancy right now. To see what are daughter is up to this week click here!
Love you all!
God Bless,

Update On Registry
Hey everyone, there's a couple of clarifications we wanted to make about our registry. First, if you are asked for a password at MyRegistry.com it is babyhewitt. Also, we didn't register for a stroller, car seat, or pack & play at Babies-R-Us, that can be found at at Target through the MyResigtry site. Thanks!

We woke up this morning excited to venture to our local Babies-R-Us to register for our upcoming blessing (this is normally about a 12 minute drive - keep that in mind). We did all of the research, talked to parents, and got ourselves mentally prepared to be overwhelmed with an immense amount of choices of child silverware and bottles (which we were), and we were off. We entered the store knowing that the forecast called for rain all day and we said to each other, "This is the perfect day to register, nobody is gonna come out in all this rain to go shopping." After making it halfway through the store we were all asked to go to the stock room because a tornado warning had been issued, only to find out in a series of texts (thanks Jim!) that the suspected tornado was right above our house. So after a few minutes the threat had passed and we were allowed to continue shopping. By this time the store had nearly emptied and we again were thinking that we had picked the perfect day to go out. When we turned in our scanner the employees were using phrases like "I hope I can get home tonight" and "It doesn't look that bad out there but I've heard that there's a lot of water." I was subscribing to the line of thought that it was just the typical Nashvillian's reaction to panic at the threat of any type of precipitation falling from the sky. We left the store and started for home when we found out what all of the hype was about. 3 miles from the store we had to turn around because Bell Rd. was flooded. "This stinks, but no big deal," I declared, "I will just have to tap into my knowledge of the back roads in this area." So we turned around and started making our way to the next best route home when we encountered traffic worse than rush hour and emergency vehicles going by towing boats. "That can't be good," we said to each other. Once we made it to Nolensville Rd. and Edmondson Pike we saw what all the commotion was about (see picture). Alas I was prepared having had plenty of time to think up 4 possible routes to the house, so I pointed us in the direction of the best one. As we approached I-24 (we've now been in the car for an hour) Jill needed a bathroom break so I pulled off at a gas station. I noticed cars exiting the highway on the on ramp (not the off ramp) and again I thought, "Well that can't be good. At least we're going the other way." We jumped back in the car, got on 24 east, passed a cop (who should have been blocking the ramp in the opinion of this taxpayer) and not a mile or so down the road, brake lights again and a sea of them. A friend called Jill and just as we got to the traffic she mentioned that there was a lot of water in the direction we were going (see the other picture). "No worries, I've got at least 2 more routes to get us home. So I turned around, got off the highway at Haywood Lane only to be greeted again with more brake lights. At this point I just started driving randomly down a residential road figuring at some point I will have to turn somewhere, I don't know where, but at least we're moving. I made it to Antioch Pike and saw in my mind's eye the next best route home and headed that way. We made it back to Harding Place, then to Donelson Pike, and then to Murfreesboro Road. Clear, clear, traffic but moving. And we made it home finally after 2 hours or so to find no damage of tornado, wind or flood! Praise the Lord! What an adventure. But in all seriousness we are praying for those affected because for many in Middle Tennessee this has been a major disaster.
You can now find our registries at:
MyRegistry.com - search for either of our names and please note the appropriate team merchandise!
Babies-R-Us - again, search for either of our names
Please note that although we registered for bunny bedding, we aren't going for a bunny themed nursery. We just didn't want a Pooh-ed out or zoo animal room. Thanks!

126 days to go!
Good evening everyone! Sorry we haven't been really good about updating this blog. I guess we're just not the blogging type! Everything is going great. We are 22 weeks along and I'm feeling pretty good. Our little girl is moving like crazy! I tell everyone she's going to be our little gymnast! Michael was able to feel her move for the first time a little over a week ago and that was neat! He was finally able to feel what I've been feeling for weeks. If you want to know about what she looks like now just click on the link below!
God Bless
